Nov, 20th 2020 – US President-elect Joe Biden has condemned Donald Trump’s refusal to concede to the presidential election results. He says that Trump’s act send a horrible message about the United States as a country. He continued to say that Trump has presented incredible irresponsibility and Americans are witnessing the same.
Biden also noted that Trump shall go down in history as one of the most irresponsible presidents as he takes extraordinary measures to try and subvert the outcome of 2020 election.
After meeting with Republican and Democratic governors, as part of Biden’s effort to work around Trump’s refusal to allow his team to access federal agencies, he said in a news conference that Americans are witnessing incredible irresponsibility which will result in an ‘incredibly damaging message being sent to the rest of the world about how democracy functions.’
He said that “It’s hard to fathom how this man thinks. It’s hard to fathom. It’s just outrageous, what he’s doing.”
Johns Hopkins University reported that the US has recorded11.6 million Covid-19 cases and more than 250,000 deaths since the pandemic started early this year.
Biden speaking to the state governors said that wearing of masks to prevent the potential spread of the virus which has killed more than 250,000 Americans to date is not a ‘political statement’ “It is a patriotic duty” he added.
Biden says that he and the group of governors have agreed on a national mask mandate soon after he takes office in January as the country is experiencing a surge in infections. “This is not a one-off meeting. We agreed that we’ll continue to meet with the governors on a regular basis; continue to seek their input.”
