Nov 19th 2020 – President Cyril Ramaphosa, has condemned the escape of Malawian Preacher Shepherd Bushiri and his wife from South Africa.
The South African President, said the escape of the two, raises a lot of questions that need to be addressed, and have action taken after getting a detailed report.
Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, are facing charges of money laundering and fraud in South Africa.
The two fled the country last week and turned themselves in to police in their home country on Wednesday.
This is after South Africa issued a warrant of arrest against them.
Bushiri claims that they only fled the country following death threat messages, and that the South African authorities, did not offer enough protection.
“We are going to take action that’s for sure,” said Mr Ramaphosa in an interview.
