Men are often viewed as the leaders in the society worldwide. Most of the Nations of the world are led by men and in most cultures, the man is the leader of the household. As Christians, we subscribe to the leadership of the men in the family unit.
The family is a key institution in any society. All forms of leadership starts from this institution. Once a family is raised in the right way, they go onward to the society and become fruitful members of it. This is made possible by the man of the house. The things he stands for, what he tolerates and can’t tolerate shapes the type of children he raises and the family values that his house stands by.
Just with any leadership role, it comes with a lot of responsibility and challenges. Because of this reason, the phrase “Iron sharpens iron” comes into play. Men are/should be each other’s critiques. Helping each other in investments, family advice, correcting each other when/if someone has gone wrong and appreciating/celebrating each other.
The world has definitely been shaped, regimes revolutionized and lives touched by great men in our day and before. The likes of Barack Obama who was the first African American president in the history of the country, Malcom X and Nartin Luther King Jr who were the key people in black liberation in the USA, Nelson Mandela who brought South Africa to independence, Tom Mboya who was a brilliant mind who helped many people through education and Government policies and so many more.
Today is a day to just celebrate all the men out there and shower them with love! It could be your father, your brother, your uncle, your house keeper, your watchman, your boyfriend or your husband ; pick up the phone today and drop them a text or call them and let them know that you appreciate them. It will make a world of difference.
There is a misconception that men do not need words of affirmation and love but it is absolutely not true. Men need that love and appreciation, it makes anyone work even harder and apply themselves even more.
Happy International Men’s day to all the men out there! So much `wouldn’t be the same without your input.
