On October 20th 2020, the DOVE AWARDS came to us yet again with a very well put together virtual award ceremony. The award has been very much respected and acknowledged in the gospel circle with artists like Bebe Winans and Nicole C. Mullen going home with multiple awards.

The ceremony included beautiful performances from Travis Greene, Jonathan McReynolds and Tauren Wells among others. The highlight of the show was in the artists who bagged the awards.

The ‘Artist of the year’ Award went to For King & Country who we absolutely love here at Pearl Radio. ‘The New artist of the year’ award went to We the Kingdom. Of course Kanye was not left behind as he bagged the award for the ‘Hip Hop record song of the year’ for ‘Follow God’

Our girl Tasha Cobbs Leonard carried the ‘Gospel artist of the year’ award which she absolutely deserved. What she did with secular artists like Nikki Minaj and Ciara was quite commendable. Tauren Wells went home with the ‘Contemporary Christian artist of the year’ as Jonathan McReynolds went home with the award for ‘Contemporary recorded song of the year’ for his song ‘People’. We were particularly happy when Elevation worship won the ‘Worship record of the year award for their song ‘The Blessing’ which was indeed a blessing to us.

The award ceremony was crowned with video messages from fans who were explaining how certain songs did for their lives and journeys in faith. We hope this motivates the artists to continue blessing us with great Jesus music.
