President Uhuru Kenyatta to address the Nation

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to give a state of the nation address at the parliament buildings today.

A number of issues will be at the top of his address, including the fight against the Coronavirus following the upsurge of cases in the country.

The President will also be expected to shed more light on the way forward on the BBI report.

Meanwhile some of the Jubilee Senators led by Elgeyo Marakwet’s Kipchumba Murkomen have protested the list of those invited to the national assembly chambers.

In a statement, Murkomen says the list was discriminatory of those senators loyal to the government.

“We have been asked to watch Presidential address on TV. The list is self explanatory.”⁦ Murkomen said.

The Speakers of both houses have already released a list of invited MPs to sit in the chamber in order to adhere to the COVID 19 protocols of social distancing .

Only 26 senators have been listed to be in the main chamber during the presidential address.
