Nov, 9th 2020 – US President-elect Joe Biden has urged and promised a new day for America. His speech which is his first national address since winning the tense US election, delivered a message of hope and healing to a crowd of cheering supporters. He said, “Let us be the nation we know we can be. A nation united, a nation strengthened, a nation healed. There’s never been anything we’ve tried we’ve not been able to do.”
The Democrat’s victory speech promised to unify the state as well as make America respected around the world again, hinting on the diplomatic ties Trump had torn. He said, “Let’s give each other a chance, Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end, here and now.”
Giving reference to Trump tearing up traditional diplomatic ties, Biden said that he will make America respected around the world again. He said, “Tonight, the whole world is watching America and I believe that at our best America is a beacon for the globe.“
Speaking on the coronavirus which claimed the lives of over 237,000 Americans under Trump’s leadership, Biden said that he will form a task force of leading scientists this Monday.
At the drive in event, attendance was limited to about 360 cars due to social distancing purposes. His running mate Kamala Harris, will make history as the country’s first female and first black vice president.
Joe Biden told Trump supporters that they are not enemies but American citizens. He said, “I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide, but to unify. Who doesn’t see red and blue states, but a United States, and who will work with all my heart to win the confidence of the whole people.”
His running mate Kamala Harris also promised to work for the entire country as vice president. She said, “No matter who you voted for, I will strive to be the vice president that Joe was to President Obama, Loyal, honest, and prepared, waking up everyday thinking of you and your families. Because now is when the real work begins.”
However, Former US president Donald Trump has vowed to take legal action to the supreme court alleging President-elect Joe Biden of voting fraud with evidence. He has been seen to claim voter fraud further on his tweets a clear indication that he does not plan to concede. This comes amid US president-elect Joe Biden acceptance speech and vowing to unite the people of the United States.
