Vihiga United will play in the FKF premier league in the coming new season after they edged out Kisumu All stars 3-1 on penalties in the second leg of the playoff.
Vihiga came from the 2-1 loss in Mumias in the first leg and levelled the tie in Moi stadium as they won by the same margin.
The match went to extra time but failed to bring out a winner forcing penalties. Kisumu all stars will now play in the second tier NSL league .
Nairobi City Stars and Bidco United were the first ones to be assured of promotion by the virtue of finishing in the first and second in the NSL .
The 2021 season has been scheduled to start on November 20.
Meanwhile government is yet to confirm the resumption of all contact sports even as the Coronavirus infections continue to rise in the country.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa has however said the league must kickoff as scheduled failure to which the whole season will be in Jeopardy.
“We are ready to play even without fans like other leagues in some African countries and Europe” Mwendwa said.
The national team Harambee stars has however been allowed to train ahead of the AFCON qualifier match against Comoros.
