Oct 21st, 2020 -President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga have received the final Building Bridges Initiative BBI report in Kisii county.
President Uhuru says the report will be part of the whole process to involve all Kenyans in the development of the country.
“This is not the time for political division, this is time to show leadership and bring our country together. We will officially launch the report on Monday at the Bomas of Kenya. Before Monday, this document should have been circulated to as many Kenyans as possible,” Uhuru said.
ODM leader Raila Odinga has said the report will now go through the legal process before it is submitted to the people’s representatives in the counties and parliament.
“These are recommendations, they are not cast on stone. We will collect signatures to take to IEBC and hopefully county assemblies. We will accept the verdict of the people on the report,” Odinga remarked.
Reports say that the final document proposes a prime minister and two deputies, two senators representing each gender per county and There will be creation of a public office that will address the citizen’s issues at a lower level and creation of a commission that will address the youth’s issues .
