KCAA launches investigations into Narok helicopter crush

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Director General Captain Gilbert Kibe, says that investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of a chopper crush in Narok County.

Narok Governor Samwel Tunai and three others survived the crash in Eldamat Narok County when leaving a funeral.

Witnesses say that the pilot tried taking off several times but failed. Tunai and the injured were ferried to hospital in a Red Cross ambulance.

The aircraft registration 5YMEP type Robinson 44 crash landed seconds after it took off.

Area MCA Moses Ole Samante has assured the public that the governor is okay and out of danger.

In a statement published on Sunday, 18 October, “The Air Accident Investigation Department (AAID) of the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure Housing and Urban Development and Public Works have already initiated the investigation and will inform the public once concluded.
