Oct 16th, 2020 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has made several changes in Kenya’s missions abroad with Former IEBC commissioners landing some of the jobs.
The statement issued by the President read“The persons who by dint of the presidential action will join our Nation’s esteemed foreign service.”
The Former vice-chairperson Consolata Maina has been nominated as deputy head of mission in Rome. Her former colleague in the team Paul Kurgat has been seconded to Moscow.
Margaret Mwachanya, who resigned from the IEBC alongside Maina and Kurgat, will be deputy head of mission in Islamabad should Parliament approve the appointments.
Among the proposed appointments is Irene Achieng Oloo, who has been seconded as deputy head of mission New Delhi.
Achieng is said to be Mama Ida Odinga’s personal assistant.
President Kenyatta has also nominated Building Bridges Initiative, joint secretary Martin Kimani as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the UN
