DCI arrests 4 Kenyans harassing people via online dating

Four people have been arrested in Ruaka, Kiambu county by detectives from the directorate of Criminal investigations, for being part of a cartel that has been demanding money from people through online dating, after torturing them. The four had split duties and were arrested in different activities.

 The four had split duties and were arrested in different activities. one Catherine Kivuva, was arrested for having directed a turkish National to a date, in a house where two others Bernard Mbunga and Fredrick Mutua were in the house torturing the victim. Kelvin Nzioki was arrested at a Cooperative Bank ATM ready to transact from the victim’s account besides obtaining cash via MPESA.

“It has since been established that the suspect (Bernard Mbunga) was wanted after escaping through a perimeter wall in an earlier incident where an Indian national was robbed in like manner at Imara Daima, before recruiting the new team that has been nabbed today,” added the DCI.
