10th October Declared a National Public Holiday

Oct 9th, 2020 – Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’ i, has declared tomorrow, the 10th of October, a public holiday dubbed Huduma day. 

In line with the provisions of the Public Holidays Act (Cap 110, Laws of Kenya), it is hereby confirmed that the 10th of October will be a public holiday,” said Matiang’i.

In a communication, the CS said Kenyans are encouraged to observe the day prayerfully and engage in community service to promote peace cohesion, and national unity.

The announcement by Matiang’i comes a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta declared a national prayer weekend from Friday to Sunday.

On Saturday, the president will convene an interfaith national prayer service at State House, Nairobi starting at 10 am.
