Man Utd Completes signing Edinson Cavani

Oct 6th, 2020 – Manchester United have signed former Paris St-Germain(PSG) striker Edinson Cavani on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old Uruguay international, who left PSG at the end of June, has signed a one-year contract.

Manchester United is one of the greatest clubs in the world, so it is a real honor to be here,” said Cavani. “I’ve worked really hard during the time off and I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club.”

One of his first United games, could come against PSG in the Champions League group match on 20th October.

United Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer describes the player as an experienced ultimate professional who always gives everything for his team.

He’ll bring energy, power, leadership, and a great mentality to the squad but, most importantly, he’ll bring goals. He has had a brilliant career so far, winning trophies at almost every club he has played for, and he still has so much more to give at the highest level,said Solskjaer.

United also got the signature of Brazilian Alex Telles, from Porto and Amad Diallo Traore, from Atalanta on deadline day.

Amad will however join in January due to work permit issues. 

Chris Smalling also sealed a move away to Roma for a reported 18 million pounds.

Theo Walcott returned to Southampton on loan, from Everton. Arsenal have signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid, after triggering his 45 million pounds release clause on deadline day.
