September 10th 2020 – Manchester United believe they are making progress over their attempts to sign England Winger Jadon Sancho, as they continue to push a deal for the Borussia Dortmund player.
United have made Sancho their top target during this transfer window but had so far been frustrated in their attempts to sign the England international.
Dortmund continues to remain adamant they won’t sell, while United still believes the deal isn’t completely dead after ongoing constructive discussions with an intermediary.
Sources say Dortmund will not alter their demand for a fee in excess of £100m. It had been suggested they needed to sell the 20-year-old and would soften their approach as deadline day neared
However, with the progress made this week, Manchester United believes there is still hope that a deal can be struck before the transfer window closes on October 5.
United have also indicated that they would be willing to pursue alternative targets if Dortmund did reduce their demands.
Last week the Red Devils signed Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax for £35m.
