Beirut Residents say government’s negligence led to Tuesday’s blast

Residents in Beirut, Lebanon are expressing anger over what they say was negligence by the government that led to Tuesday’s blast.

Many are accusing the authorities of corruption, neglect and mismanagement.

The blast, as confirmed by President Michel Aoun, was caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a warehouse. 

At least 137 people died from the explosion  and about 5,000 others injured.
